FINAL: LSU 9, South Alabama 4.

Paul Mainieri and the Tigers played one of their more complete games on Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium. Freshman pitcher AJ Labas earned his first career victory, throwing six scoreless innings, also striking out five Jaguar hitters.

“I’m very happy with how the guys played tonight,” said Mainieri.

The night was highlighted; however, by junior right-fielder Antoine Duplantis, who earned his 200th career hit. “It’s a cool little milestone. I’m going to try to get a few more,” said Duplantis.

LSU will now open up SEC play against Missouri on Friday night at Alex Box. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on WatchESPN.
