And, so it begins.

Anxious about its NCAA Tournament fate heading into Hoover, the LSU Baseball team solidified their standing in a regional by advancing to the SEC Tournament Championship. Their next destination; however, will be the farthest they’ve ever traveled.

Corvallis, Oregon.

Just a year ago, the Tigers found themselves in the College World Series semifinal against Oregon State, who last year may have been one of the most dominant teams in College Baseball history. The Tigers were trounced 11-1 in the first matchup, but they would soon meet again and LSU would beat the Beavers twice, a team that had only lost four games in their entire regular season. Let that sink in.

You think they are looking for revenge? I’d bet on it. Paul Mainieri and a younger LSU squad enters the Corvallis Regional as the No. 2 seed with Oregon State, Northwestern State and San Diego State as their obstacles to Supers. Buckle up, ‘cuz it’s that time of the year.
