To say it was an up and down weekend for Paul Mainieri and the Tigers would be quite the understatement. A rollercoaster of emotions, both positive, negative and all in between, LSU did, however, win the series against Texas this weekend at The Box.

Game 1: LSU 13, Texas 4.

Game 2: LSU 10, Texas 5.

Game 3: LSU 1, Texas 11.

After a full weekend of baseball in Baton Rouge, it was Game 2 that would capture most of the attention, for a variety of reasons. On Saturday night, LSU scored 10 unanswered runs to win, behind huge performances from Bryce Jordan and Daniel Cabrera.

Even with many strong individual performances, the night was truly highlighted by an improper gesture made from Beau Jordan after a hit, which would get him immediately ejected from the contest.

“He lost control of himself. He was baited (by the pitcher), but at the same time he has to have a little more self control than that,” said Mainieri postgame.

LSU improves to 4-3 on the season, still with lots to prove and many questions to answer. The Tigers return to action at Alex Box Stadium on Tuesday night vs. Grambling. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The Tigers will don their throwback uniforms. For more on LSU Baseball, follow us on Twitter @InsideLSU/@HValentineLSU.
