FINAL: LSU 1, Ole Miss 9.

A night full of missed opportunities. A night where it just didn’t seem like the Tigers ever had a chance at the plate. Paul Mainieri’s squad left countless runners in scoring position, and with an already slim bullpen, couldn’t tame the Rebels’ offense in Sunday’s title game.

“I’m so proud of this team for what it accomplished this week. “We came here with our postseason fate in doubt, and we firmly established ourselves as a team worthy of an NCAA regional bid,” said Mainieri after Sunday’s loss at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

Just today, it was announced the the Tigers secured the No. 2 seed in the Corvallis Regional, with Oregon State, SDSU and Northwestern State. The first game will be on Friday at 3 p.m. CT.
