FINAL: LSU 1, Oregon State 14.
An ugly showing from Paul Mainieri’s Tigers on Saturday night. With the loss, LSU dropped to 38-26 on the year and will play tomorrow at 2 p.m. CT against Northwestern State in a “win or go home” game.
Starting pitcher Zack Hess allowed nine runs on eight hits through 3.1 innings. “That was an extremely rough game for us,” said Mainieri.
“I think Oregon State had a lot to do with that as they played very well tonight. We had some opportunities to score early in the game but we couldn’t capitalize on them, and then the game just got away from us. It was a tough one for us to endure, but Oregon State deserved to win.” The Beavers continue to dominate the world of College Baseball and should be expected back in Omaha.
