FINAL: LSU 1, UL-Lafayette 3.

Paul Mainieri and the Tigers continue to struggle mid-season. In-state rival UL-Lafayette claimed the season series sweep on Tuesday night off of countless LSU missed opportunities.

LSU’s lone run came from an RBI-single from Jake Slaughter, who singled straight back to the pitcher in an unusual sequence. The two teams played in the 15th annual Wally Pontiff Jr. Classic, honoring the LSU Baseball legend who passed away at age 21 in 2002.

With the loss, LSU now falls to 16-10. Next, the Tigers host Mississippi State on Thursday for a three-game series at The Box.
