FINAL: LSU 4, Southeastern 5.

Paul Mainieri and the Tigers suffered undoubtedly their toughest loss to date against in-state foe Southeastern in the team’s first away game of the 2018 season.

After Antoine Duplantis was intentionally walked, LSU had the bases loaded in the ninth with just one out. Southeastern called on reliever Bryce Tassin to face LSU’s Hunter Feduccia … and he got the job done. Tassin forced a game-ending 4-6-3 double play to complete the upset.

LSU’s starter Nick Bush had a short, but productive outing of two innings, striking out two batters and allowing no runs. The Tigers have been known for sleep walking in mid-week games; however, this season’s squad seems to be garnering lots of concerns early.

Next: LSU will return to The Box to host Toledo on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Sacred Heart on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Tigers fall to 5-4 overall, but will have another shot at Southeastern at home on March 4th.
