FINAL: LSU 5, Arkansas 4.
LSU’s bullpen continues to struggle. The Razorbacks’ three-run eighth inning lifted Arkansas over the Tigers in gutting fashion. With the loss, LSU falls to 26-20 on the season and 10-12 in SEC play.
Zack Hess recorded seven-innings of work on Friday night. Hess would give up four runs on six hits, striking out eight. The loss; however, was charged to Nick Bush, who allowed a run on four hits.
“(Zach) gave us a great chance to win, he was outstanding tonight,” said Mainieri.
The Tigers return to action tomorrow at 7 p.m. for Game 2.
