LSU’s offensive line depth just became razor thin with the blink of an eye.

Maea Teuhema, the two-year starter at right guard has been granted his release from the team, for reasons still undisclosed. However, Teuhema was indefinitely suspended today for a violation of team rules, likely related to “academic stuff,” as mentioned from head coach Ed Orgeron on Monday’s post practice presser.

So … who is there to fill in for Teuhema?

Redshirt freshman Lloyd Cushenberry is fully expected to replace him at that right guard spot. With this news, LSU is now down to only 11 scholarship offensive linemen, a unit that already had depth concerns. Teuhema would have been starting for third consecutive season and leading the offensive line group.

This is the Tigers’ 10th player to transfer this year. Not ideal for Ed Orgeron, who faces off against BYU in just thirty one days.

More on this matter will be updated right here in the coming hours.
