FINAL: LSU 9, Tennessee 7.
It left the ballpark in 4.9 seconds. It flew 386 feet. And, it propelled the Tigers over Tennessee for the series sweep on Sunday at The Box. Daniel Cabrera hit his fourth homer of the season in walk-off fashion to improve LSU’s record to 24-13 and 9-6 in SEC play.
The Tigers entered the ninth inning down 9-7 before Cabrera’s heroics lifted the team over the Volunteers for their first walk-off victory since May 7th, 2017. The home run; however, was not the only highlight of Sunday’s victory. Head coach Paul Mainieri earned his 1,400th career win, which makes him the 13th coach all-time to achieve that many wins, according to LSU Sports Information.
Next: LSU will travel to Tulane on Wednesday night for a midweek game. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Turchin Stadium.
