The College Football Playoff will not expand anytime soon, according to an annual meeting held today from the playoff Board of Managers.

“It is our unanimous agreement that the Playoff has been a tremendous success for students, fans and universities. We are very proud of it. Fans love to watch it and we look forward to its continued success,” read a statement by President Mark Keenum.

It’s ‘too soon’ to expand and the current format has been a tremendous success.

If you wanted an expanded playoff, well, you are going to have to wait a fairly long time. In fact, according to CFP executive director Bill Hancock, you shouldn’t expect anything different until 2026-2027.
