LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda met with the media today at a Fiesta Bowl press conference to talk about the upcoming matchup with UCF, the last game vs. Texas A&M and to answer questions about his future in Baton Rouge.

“I’m very disappointed in the last game. I’m very disappointed in myself,” Aranda told the media regarding LSU’s seven overtime loss in College Station. He’s currently the highest paid assistant in all of college football. ($2.5 M)

When addressing questions about his future, Aranda said “I hope to be here a long time.” He will be finishing his third season in Baton Rouge.

Aranda also said 5-star CB signee Derek Stingley Jr., who has been practicing with the Tigers this month, has been the best corner the team has had in bowl preparations. “Looked like the best guy we had,” he said.

Aranda will have his most important game plan to date with UCF. The Tigers’ defense will take the field without six-to-seven starters due to either injury, NFL Draft or suspension.
