Hold That Tiger!

Ed Orgeron and LSU’s staff rounded out an incredible week on the recruiting trail, reeling in four commitments in the matter of five days for the 2018 and 2019 classes. In the matter of just months, Matt Canada has already proven to be a predominant recruiter, filling in many positions of need on offense. Who has he lured to join the Tiger Family? We’re here to break down the newest commitments, and what they can bring to Baton Rouge in the future.

So… here we go.

First, Ed Orgeron received a commitment from Southern Lab 4-star running back Tyrion Davis for the 2019 class. With Davis’ commitment, LSU moved into the No. 3 ranked class for 2019, per 247Sports. Orgeron, overjoyed when he heard the news, told Davis it was “another Father’s Day gift!”

LSU then landed a commitment from talented 4-star running back Chris Curry on Thursday. Curry, who is from Lehigh Acres, Florida, gave his verbal pledge during the opening day of LSU’s three-day premier prospect camp.

Ed Orgeron’s staff snatched a very talented tight end in Zack Sheffer on Sunday afternoon. Sheffer, the 4-star tight end from Ponte Verda Beach, Florida, chose LSU over Ohio State, adding to an already impressive 2018 class.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Orgeron maintained his hot hand on the recruiting trail, swaying 3-star running back A.J. Carter to flip his commitment from UCLA to LSU. Carter’s pledge marks the third running back to commit to LSU in the past week.
