LSU head coach Ed Orgeron and UCF head coach Josh Heupel held a joint press conference before tomorrow’s Fiesta Bowl. Here’s some quotes from Coach O:
“[UCF] has been first class. This is going to be a big challenge and a big finish to an outstanding season.”
“No one has really stopped [UCF] yet. They wear teams out. They play great fundamental ball.”
“We’ve had one-hundred percent attendance at every curfew. Everybody’s been early to meetings. We’ve had many battles this year and we’re going to have to play our best football game. I think we’ve had our best practices, but we’ll see tomorrow.”
Orgeron on the absences at key positions:
“Those guys are going to have to perform. The high rate of speed these guys are going to run plays, we’re going to have to alternate our guys, so there’s going to be some guys that haven’t played before that are going to have to step up.”
“[Darriel Mack Jr.] is an outstanding runner. He looks like a vet coming in. He didn’t blink.”
Orgeron on playoff expansion:
“That’s out of my wheel house, man. If they have a playoff expansion and they ask us to go, we’re going with a smile, I’ll tell you that.”
