It doesn’t mean much, but LSU entered the initial College Football Playoff rankings at No. 3. This is the Tigers’ highest ranking since November of 2015.

The committee’s response? “[LSU’s] 6 wins vs. teams with winning records … no other team has that many victories against winning teams,” said Rob Mullens.
