HOLD DAT TIGAH: LSU lands a massive commitment from top in-state defensive lineman Jaquelin Roy, who attends University High in Baton Rouge. Roy chose the Tigers over Alabama and Texas A&M on Friday. He’s the No. 5 DT in the nation, per 247Sports.

With Roy’s verbal pledge, Ed Orgeron and the Tigers now hold 22 total commits for the 2020 class. Roy was previously committed to LSU, but re-opened his recruitment earlier in the year.

LSU has missed out on some elite in-state defensive lineman recently, but that streak ended today. The Tigers are also in the running for four-star Alexandria (La.) DT Jacobian Guillory. The newest “Hometown Hero” is set to arrive … and his name is Jaquelin Roy.
