The day has come.
Monday, January 13th is a day we’ve all been waiting for. A chance at redemption. A chance to be the last man standing. A chance to make history.
The 2019-2020 LSU Tigers have been magical. This team — led by Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow — is unlike any team in program history. But Monday night is a chance to stand alone as the greatest to ever put on the uniform.
As Burrow laces it up one last time in the purple and gold, he has the chance to put on one last show. 5,208 yards. 55 touchdowns. Highest completion percentage of any quarterback ever. We have been witnesses to greatness.
But, lucky us: we get one more glimpse.
Today is a day of celebration. Win, lose or tie, this has been a tremendous ride, and where better to cap it off than at home in the state of Louisiana.
So let’s go make history.
Even with all the records this team has shattered this season, the biggest achievement is still out there for the taking.
Sixty minutes of the LSU standard of performance. Let’s do this thing.
