The Dave Aranda led defense “dominated” on Saturday as LSU wrapped up its third week of spring practice with a “game-like situational scrimmage” inside it’s Indoor Practice Facility.

“The scrimmage was dominated by the defense. They had a wonderful day,” said Orgeron. “I thought the defense was on fire most of the day.”

LSU QB stats, per Ed Orgeron:

M. Brennan: 10-15, 93 yards, 1 TD

J. McMilan: 3-11, 20 yards, 1 TD

L. Narcisse: 3-11, 65 yards

“I thought the offense threw the ball very well. You could see the improvement in our red zone offense,” said Orgeron. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire also did not play Saturday due to injury.

LSU Defense stats, per Ed Orgeron:

P. Queen: 6 tackles, 1 sack

T. Shelvin: 6 tackles, 1 TFL

D. White: 5 tackles, 2 TFL

J. Philips: 4 tackles, 1 TFL

Orgeron on Tyler Shelvin: “He’s coming. We see the things that we all thought he could become.” Orgeron also complemented Shelvin, Breidon Fehoko and Rashard Lawrence for their “tremendous” performance in goal line situations during Saturday’s scrimmage.
