D-D Breaux and the fourth ranked Tigers started the season in style, defeating eighth ranked Cal, 196.775 to 195.650 on Friday night in the PMAC. The meet was highlighted by seniors Lexie Priessman and Sarah Finnegan and junior Ruby Harrold in front of a record opening night crowd of 10,788.
Friday’s season opening meet also provided some history-making. Coach Breaux officially became the longest tenured coach (for any sport) in the history of the Southeastern Conference. She enters her 42nd year coaching.
Next: LSU will travel to Auburn (Al.) on Friday for their first road test of the season. The meet will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT inside Auburn Arena.
