The Johnny Jones era has officially run out of time.
LSU, after the worst basketball season in recent memory, will fire their head coach Johnny Jones on Friday, per reports. The 55 year old Jones has coached in Baton Rouge since 2012 and has posted a total record of 90-72 under center. After notching the nation’s top recruit (Ben Simmons), and PG Antonio Blakeney, Jones was primed to bring LSU back to prominence in 2015. After failing to make the NCAA tournament, his seat became extremely hot.
Jones did, however, fly back with the team after an early exit in the SEC Tournament to Mississippi State, but is expected to hear of his demise as early as tomorrow.
LSU finished the season 10-21, accounting for a 15-game losing streak, the highest streak in school history.
