HOLD DAT TIGAH: The No. 1 cornerback in America has spoken. Derek Stingley Jr. has announced his commitment to Ed Orgeron and the Tigers via Twitter. The Baton Rouge native is a 5-star prospect on every major recruiting website and is the No. 1 overall prospect for 2019, per Rivals.com.

This is undoubtedly one of Ed Orgeron’s greatest recruiting gets in his short tenure, and cornerback is definitely a priority position for the 2019 class. Stingley recorded 64 tackles, 6 pass break ups and 11 interceptions last season for Dunham School and today, made it official that he’s staying home.

Stingley ultimately choose LSU over Texas and Florida. He named the Tigers the leader in his recruitment to start the spring and he solidified his pledge on Wednesday afternoon. To learn more about Stingley, here’s an exclusive video from NOLA.com: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OpAJHmB9Vs

Another year, and another stud defensive back for Corey Raymond and DBU. With this commitment, I’d expect a major jump in the rankings for this class.
