Ed Orgeron and the Tigers hosted some big name targets for their annual passing and linemen camp this weekend in Baton Rouge. Those “big names” were highlighted by 5-star DL Ishmael Sopsher and 5-star CB Derek Stingley Jr.

Stingley, the No. 1 player in America, recently announced that he will be making his commitment on June 20th at 1:30 p.m. The five-star cornerback is projected “100% to LSU,” according to 247Sports’ crystal ball predictor.

Also taking visits were: 4-star Mississippi DL Nathan Pickering, who is reportedly choosing between the Tigers and Mississippi State, Grant Gunnell, the longtime LSU QB target who just committed to Arizona, and local New Orleans 4-star cornerback Devin Bush from Edna Karr, who recently was awarded the coveted No. 7 at his high school.

Bush is another prospect many believe will stay home. Pickering; however, is getting recruited hard by first year head coach Joe Moorhead, but Orgeron and staff have plenty of time to catch up with his commitment coming next year.

With lots of recruiting needs in this class, especially at running back, quarterback and cornerback, all we can do is hope that Ed Orgeron and staff can keep at least some of these guys on campus in the years to come.
