Football in March? Football in March.
Ed Orgeron and LSU football went back to work in the indoor practice facility on Sunday morning for Day 1 of 15 spring practices, which will all lead up to the annual spring game on April 21st.
“Tremendous day. The execution was ahead of where it is usually on the first day,” said Orgeron.
The Tigers were able to showcase their eight mid-year enrolles and a ton of new faces from the 2018 signing class. One of which was signee Badara Traore, who comes in ranked as the top JUCO tackle.
New faces weren’t just from the players. LSU’s new-look coaching staff was out in full force on Sunday morning, including new safeties coach Bill Busch and offensive line coach James Cregg.
Practice Report: LSU offensive linemen Saahdiq Charles was sidelined (shoulder) and Austin Deculus was limited (wrist). Orgeron said the player that really stood out was linemen Damien Lewis.
At quarterback, Orgeron says that this will be a race that extends into fall camp. Myles Brennan took the first team snaps, but Lowell Narcisse looked the best Orgeron has seen. None of the quarterbacks will get hit in the spring, according to Orgeron.
This post will be updated with more information throughout the day.
