FINAL: LSU 6, South Carolina 4.

Paul Mainieri and the Tigers returned to Hoover Memorial Stadium on Thursday night after Wednesday’s heartbreaking loss to No. 1 Florida. Fighting off elimination, Todd Peterson ripped his first career hit and a two run double to beat South Carolina in 12 innings.

Not only did Peterson become the hero at the plate; however, he threw the last five innings, allowing just two runs on four hits.

And, thus, the legend was born.

With the win, LSU advances to Friday, and of Florida vs. Arkansas. For more on #LSU Baseball, follow us on Twitter @InsideLSU/@HValentineLSU.
